Jumped the gun on my "legs are better, hooray!". Because they totally aren't. :(
This is me giving the thumbs down. And Spencer being ever so oblivious.

UGH I AM SO MAD. I just don't get what is going on with my calf muscles! And the scary part is, i don't know when they will get better. i can't miss another long run this weekend, i just can't.
Anyone out there have any good tips for muscle strains? I am begging here...

Keep your head (and leg) up! Rest and Ice are really the old school but best ways to heal sore muscles. I know it is SOOOO frustrating waiting for things to heal (this coming from the girl who was caught on the cross trainer numerous time's last year...with a cast on). But in the long run you will regret not letting it heal. Stay off it and do ice massages (take an ice cubes and rub it up and down your calves with pressure until the ice is completely melted. Massage rollers can actually do wonders as well (or simple tennis balls). Just stay off it, ice it, and will it to get better. but most of all STAY POSITIVE! You can do it! And remember, taking a week or two off is much better than taking a month or two off. Or a YEAR OR TWO if you push it too fast too soon.

Is stretching allowed for a muscle strain? If so definitely do it. I had tight calves and that contributed to tendinitis in my ankle and stretching is a must. Also get a foam roller. There are videos on Youtube on how to use it. Good luck, I hope you heal quickly.
Thanks ladies for the advice! Trying to keep positive. :)
I've had muscle strains where I could run slowly on a flat surface and worse ones where I had to cross-train for a week and then run slowly.
