Well, Saturday was our last group run. I'm really quite sad about it! These are the people i have been seeing every Saturday morning, bright & early, for the past 5 months. It's going to be very weird after next weekend and the race is over. I really hope i can continue to do some long runs out at the canal, and hopefully Tom will go with me once his hamstring is better.
I took the run nice & easy, but felt super tired after the first mile. Kinda dissapointing, but i found a girl at mile 3 that i paced with, so that helped. (And some good tunes to keep me moving.)
Our schedule calls for only 3 miles on Tuesday & Wednesday, and then an easy 2 miles on Saturday. And the big 13.1 on Sunday....!
Be prepared for a couple of "freak out" posts from me this week, i'm sure!

You can do it!
Best wishes!
I remember going on like a one mile run and being tired in the week before my first half. I think it's normal to be physically and mentally exhausted.
Luckily on race day I had tons of adrenaline and this wasn't the case at all. Just think at this time next week you'll be done! Jealous you are doing PF Changs!
You don't have to freak out! You're totally ready for the 13.1! :)
Can you see the people from the group after the race? :)
Thanks, everyone!
@inspiREDtorun13 - Yes, i'm hoping adrenaline will carry me through a few miles on Sunday! :)
@kilax - i hope i will continue to see them at the canal; i've also entertained the idea of joining a local running group. We'll see!
Thank you so much girl! I can't believe your race is this weekend! You will do great and I swear you will have an amazing time. Its amazing how mental it really is. My advice...grab water at ever station even if you dont think you want it...it will benefit you in the end lol. I can't wait to hear all about it!
You are going to do great!!! I have a couple short runs planned during the week too. I can't wait for the half marathon on Sunday!!!! It's going to be so much fun. I'm excited for the expo too.
Wow gurl .. you've come a long long way.
Yeah, race day brings alot of adrenaline, just remember to keep 'YOUR' pace and don't come out of the gates too fast (usually my problem).
You'll do great .. and feel real good at the end of it ... good luck !!! and keep logging those miles !!!
Lemme know of any other races in the future ... we'll pace eachother !!!
Hello there! First time reader here. I remember being sad after training for my first half marathon. After training with the same people for months it was time to do the half marathon and I knew I wasn't going to see 'em as much anymore. It's bittersweet. Good luck on your race! Hope you're carb loading!
