Bummed.

Well, today just wasn't my race.

I didn't finish under 3 hours.

In fact, i think i might have been almost a minute slower than last year's half. (Haven't seen the official times yet & i thought i had stopped my Garmin, but i hadn't.)

Yes, i'm disappointed. But i gave it my all out there today. It was just too tough and it just wasn't my day.

But i did finish & i will be proud of that.

Hopefully tomorrow i can take some time to do a race report & post some pics.

Thank you for your support!

I'm sorry it didn't go as well as you planned! BUT you still were out there running and you completed the race- and that makes you amazing! Looking forward to the race report. :)

You just completed your second half marathon!! Congrats! Not only are you in the small percentage of people who have run a half marathon, but you're now in a probably even smaller percentage of people who have completed multiple half marathons I bet! I'm sorry it didn't go as planned but, you gave it your all and that my dear is amazing! Give yourself a pat on the back! Get some rest and I can't wait to read you're report and see pictures!

Bummer. This is one of my biggest fears about running another half. I'm sorry it didn't turn out to be the race you wanted. It takes a lot just to finish a race when your "not feeling it" so kuddos to you for completing the race. Don't beat yourself up. Remember most people won't even attemp a 5K much less a half!

You FINISHED!! That's the most important aspect and you didn't give up!!! Over 5000 people didn't finish today - so you should be PROUD that you did!!!

We all have good runs and not so good runs. So this one wasn't so good - big deal... There's always another race!!

Congrats on finishing. That is a great accomplishment even if it didn't go as planned.

Good job on finishing.
Don't beat yourself up too hard, ok?
There's another race out there for you to hammer it out!

I'm sorry that your race plans didn't pan out :(

But, you finished the race! You accomplished 13.1 miles, however hard they were!

Great job on finishing your 2nd marathon! It's ok to feel a little disappointed. That's what gives us runners the drive to keep running and setting goals for ourselves. Can't wait to read the race report. And be very proud of yourself!

You finished. That in itself = awesome. Sometime races don't the way we plan, but we learn from that and do better next time.

I'm sorry that you were disappointed, but let's be honest here. You weren't properly prepared for this race. There were just too many missed training runs. In the weeks leading up to this race, I didn't see any long runs. I only saw short runs of 2-4 miles.

"The will to win is not nearly as important as the will to prepare to win. Everyone wants to win, but not everyone wants to prepare to win. Preparing to win is where the determination that you will win, is made. Once the game or test or project is underway, it is too late to prepare to win. The actual game, test or project is just the end of a long process of getting ready, in which the outcome was really determined. So if you want to win, you must want to prepare to win."
-- Edward W. Smith

You can DEFINITELY reach your goal of finishing in under three hours, but you have to prepare for it. That means you train, and you train hard! No more missed runs. Do what you need to do to get your runs in. Run in the rain, run in the cold, run in the morning, run in the evening. Just run!

When is your next half mary? I'm going to be here pulling for you, and urging you to find the will to stick to your training plan(s).

Good luck and run well!!!

I feel like I can completely identify with how you are feeling, because I too was disappointed with my run yesterday. It just didn't go as well as my training runs did, and it bothered me more than I thought it would.

But, now I'll try to encourage you, and I'll be reading lots of other blogs and comments to try to find encouragement for myself as well. Huge congratulations for finishing a very tough run! You totally rocked it! You haven't failed if you haven't quit.

I got over here from motivating me. I am copying one of your sentences.
But i gave it my all out there today

Be proud! It is too much work to race 13.1 miles and not be happy! Yes, be a little disappointed but then let the pride take over of what you did that so many people will never do!
