Lost Dutchman 10k Race Review

Erm, not so fast.

This actually is not the Lost Dutchman 10k Race Review. Because i did not run it. It is, however, the Lost Lazyman 10k Race Review!

Yeah, so Tom & I wussed out & decided not to run in the chilly, drizzly weather Sunday morning. But i told him we were going to do our own race the next day to make up for it.

Enter: the Lost Lazyman 10k Race.
We truly are lazy.

No frills here - there was no goody bag or water stops along the way, but we made do. :)
I told Tom it wasn't "cool" to wear the race shirt to the race, but he didn't care. ;)

Bring on the pain!

The weather was perfect today. Sunny and in the 60s. We decided to do a double loop course around a lake by our neighborhood. Really pretty and there are always people out walking, biking or jogging.

After the first mile, i decided to do a walk one song, jog one song. It worked pretty well - i still felt i was getting a good workout. Tom had gone on and met back up with me on my second loop.

You can view my Garmin stats here if you are so inclined, but i finished our "race" in 1:28:04. That's practically 8 minutes slower than my 10k PR, but i knew i wasn't going for time on this one. Just wanted to get the miles in!
Nothing to brag about, but we completed it!

So, there you have it! I am a little embarrassed that we were such babies & didn't do the Lost Dutchman, but there is always next year. :)

This week I am going to focus on geting my miles in and building my stamina back up. Maybe I'll tackle the Lost Lazyman in a few weeks and see how much my time has improved??

Bonus: Caught off guard by Tom.

Way to hold yourself to it and make up your run! :) I didn't run in the drizzly yuck yesterday either. (It was near freezing and raining all day.)

Glad you finished. Hold that race again and see how much faster you are! :)

I don't blame you, I would hate rain running too! Congrats on the strong finish in the inaugural lazyman!

I love it! I had to bail on a 1/2 marathon a couple weeks ago...I totally should have made myself do this!
