World's Sweatiest Run

Well, I'm back in Phoenix. In the dry heat - and let me tell you, i prefer a dry heat over humidity!

On Monday morning (our last day in VA) i went for a run. I decided to go "au natural" - no Garmin, no iPod. (This is very foreign to me.) I was feeling bummed that i had to leave my family and thought a run would be good to clear my head.

Well, it definitely took my mind off things because GOOD LORD. THE HUMIDITY. How do you people do it?! Five minutes into the run and i am sweating from my eyeballs! I wasn't even exerting that much energy and this was definitely the sweatiest run to date. Yech. All ya'll that run in those conditions definitely have my respect.

Tomorrow calls for 3 miles - all i know is that while it may be 103 degrees, i know i won't be sweating as much. :)

Great job girl I don't think I could run in the humidity either.
I do a few runs without the iPod but usually always have my garmin unless I'm on the TM. How did you like running without it?

wow, thanks...appreciate the shout out love here in HUMID-FILLED Texas!!! Today's run was a steamy 92% humidity...and yes, sweat was coming from our eyeballs...ewwww!

Glad things are dry where you are...maybe I'll come and visit??!

I am also thankful for no humidity like that. Great job running though and doesn't it feel good to go au naturale sometimes!

It's so funny, because I like the humidity, but dislike the dry heat. I think it's what you're used to.

I'd probably face plant the concrete if I went down to AZ to run in the dry heat.

Welcome back!!

Hey girl! I'm back and excited to catch up on your blog. Humidity does suck doesn't it? I just signed up for my 2nd half on Oct. 23rd. I'm nervous because of having to train in the heat this time...not my favorite but I have no choice. When is your next race?
