5 Miles Dunzo.

Oh, Monday. Does the weekend go by waaaay too fast for anyone else? And can you believe it's going to be freakin' August in a week?? Time does fly when you're getting older. :P

So Saturday called for 5 miles. I was a little nervous, but I got a good night's sleep and actually woke up at 5:20 without an alarm, which is a miracle in itself. I decided to take this run nice & easy - just see how my body wanted to run.

Luckily, my body was in a good mood! I ran the first mile in 12:30 and then did the 2 song/1 song interval. It worked well until mile 3 where i started having some stomach issues (naturally) but I was able to finish the 5 miles feeling pretty satisfied! Final time was 1:09:xx with around a 13:4ish average pace.

I'll be running 5 miles on for the next two weekends, so hopefully I'll see the times improve a bit.

If i can keep my average pace below 14:00/min during the half marathon, i will be able to achieve my sub-3....

Gah! every time I read about running I am both jealous and sad. I have not been a good do bee for the last few weeks.

Thanks for the kick in the butt to get back out there, after it gets below 100 degrees.
