Oh, Monday. Does the weekend go by waaaay too fast for anyone else? And can you believe it's going to be freakin' August in a week?? Time does fly when you're getting older. :P
So Saturday called for 5 miles. I was a little nervous, but I got a good night's sleep and actually woke up at 5:20 without an alarm, which is a miracle in itself. I decided to take this run nice & easy - just see how my body wanted to run.
Luckily, my body was in a good mood! I ran the first mile in 12:30 and then did the 2 song/1 song interval. It worked well until mile 3 where i started having some stomach issues (naturally) but I was able to finish the 5 miles feeling pretty satisfied! Final time was 1:09:xx with around a 13:4ish average pace.
I'll be running 5 miles on for the next two weekends, so hopefully I'll see the times improve a bit.
If i can keep my average pace below 14:00/min during the half marathon, i will be able to achieve my sub-3....

I am SO PROUD of you, Melissa!! You are doing AWESOME with sticking to your training and I 110 percent believe you can break 3 hours. You're going to kill it! :)
just find a race that I can run with you and you will be sub3. aka sub 2:45.
Amazing job and great attitude to have. i just got back running after recovering from an injury. Can't wait to work up to 5 miles!

And as for it being August in 1 week....Boo! Now I will have to go back to work :(
I still can't get over the fact that you run in this heat!!! You are a rock star! Keep with your training, and sub 3 will be a piece of cake!

Good Job!!
I hate when I have stomach issues on a long run. Ugh...
I set my alarm this morning to do a 5am run...and guess what I did? Decided sleep sounded more fun! Good for you! Keep it up.
awesome
Nice work there little lady!
I think you're going to see those better times!! Absolutely!
Gah! every time I read about running I am both jealous and sad. I have not been a good do bee for the last few weeks.
Thanks for the kick in the butt to get back out there, after it gets below 100 degrees.
woohoo, great job with great goals! I am getting totally nervous about my half and it's not until JANUARY...paranoid, right?! Ha!
way to go!!!! that's awesome. I'm going to try the 2 song 1 song method- i hate keeping track of my time when I run...I lose concentration
Awesome!!! You WILL be able to achieve your goal :)
