Woah there.

Do you see that face? That is a happy (and tired) face, my friends!

I don't know what got into me tonight, but I was determined to make this run a good one. Stepped out the door in the 106 heat (oy) and set off.

Legs felt a little stiff, but they always do for about the first mile. I was smart this time and brought my handheld. Stopped after 1.5 miles to take a drink of water and then started off again. Didn't take a walk break until 2.25 - and that was my only walk break!

I would like to think Smokey Robinson & The Temptations for getting me through the final stretch. Ain't Too Proud to Beg (one of my kareoke go-tos) came on & i powered through!

Final time - 39:05! Average mile - 13:02!

I'm getting there slowly but surely! I realize most of you can whip out a 13:02 average with 10 pound weights attached to your ankles. But that time is faster than ol' fatty mcgee has seen in a while!

Saturday calls for 5 miles - now I'm getting nervous.

It's hard not to compare yourself to the other badass running bloggers. We have to celebrate our own personal times and achievements!

Blogging can be so inspiring but can also get you down when you compare yourself! Don't do that, if you had an awesome run, be proud of yourself! Personally I wouldn't run 3 feet in that heat so you kicked my ass.

Way to go girl!!! Slow and steady always wins the race!!!

I can't believe you run in this heat! I'm too scared, so I stick to the treadmill (or get up at the butt crack of dawn!).

WOAH! In the heat girl! AWESOME!
Anyone who can run in 90+ degree temperature is awesome blossom to me!

YOU WILL BE JUST FINE ON YOUR 5-MILER!!!!! YOU CAN DO IT!

I was going to slide on today's makeup run for yesterday. But after reading your post, I am going to go home in 10 minutes and get changed and get my hiney to the gym to do at least a 5K. On Saturday, I am going to do 5 miles!

Great job! I haven't been able to brave the nasty, 96* + humidity here. Yuck! Way to power through that heat!

Great job!!! I like in phx too- and I have a hard time even opening the door to start my run outside!! Keep it up!! I've trying really hard not to compare myself with badass bloggers and focus on my own goals and health.

Great job! I am considering stepping out into the heat. My runs have been nonexistent because of it, and I'm finally ready for some running. So if you can do it, I'll have to try it as well. :)
