Being met with this...
means Melissa will not be running after work this week.
And take it as a sign of the apocalypse, because I woke up this morning before work to get 3 miles in! And i plan on doing it on Thursday, too!
This coming from a person who loves her sleep. (ie i slept for 11 hours Saturday night and still took a 3 hour nap on Sunday. Oops.)

I would not be running either, that is so HOT!
I'm also running in the morning before it gets too crazy. I'm running at the gym in the evening but I know that even in there it's going to be hot and sticky. Ugh.
We're just the opposite, it's actually been cooling down a bit here in Atlanta after about 6pm! Good luck getting the morning runs in, you'll feel awesome to get it out the way!
Um, those temps are ridic. Great job on the morning run! If sleeping was a sport, I'd win an Olympic gold medal.
I'd love to know which training schedule you follow - I've just bitten the bullet and signed up for my first half. Feeling inspired by your blog but a little overwhelmed by all of the different training programs out there...
I have never seen temps like that and I don't think I'd run in that either!
Hi Susie!
Please shoot me an email melissa(dot)mcmullin(at)gmail(dot)comand I'll share with you my training plan!
Melissa, good deal on the 3miles this morning, I didn't ride past your place this morning, but I was out there at 4:30am ... yeehaw. Sleeps overrated !!!
Pretty sure I heard somewhere that they renamed Pheonix to Hell. Just sayin'.
Hey, if you love sleep as much as I do (which it sounds like you do) then i'm damn proud of you for getting up! (I got up at 4:30, yes, in the AM, I know, i'm crazy, to run this morning. Thought I was going to die. And have been bitchy all day, but hey, I got my run it!)
Yea gads - that's HOT! Getting up early for your run - now that's dedication! I'm very impressed. I swelter if the temperature goes about 75! (mind you, I'm a lady of a "certain age" and running with hot flushes isn't fun at all at the best of times!) I never thought I'd look forward to winter!
I love sleep!
I went to bed before 8 p.m. last night, hoping to wake up at 5 to go run. Nah! Didn't happened. I woke up at 7 and had to get ready in a jiffy for work.
It's 80 degrees here right now and I'm trying to decide if I should try to get my long run in today or wait until tomorrow morning in an attempt to get up early. I'd like to do it now to get it over with but the temps are warm...or so I thought. Looking at your page makes me feel like I need to suck it up and just run now because this 80 degrees is nothing to PHX runners!
