Ghost Stories

So, taking a break from the running talk today. This morning I listened to the "Anything Ghost Show" podcast (Thanks Christy for the recommendation!) and it put me in the mood for Halloween. :)

I loooove scary movies and being creeped out - kinda. My imagination totally runs away and sometimes I totally end up scaring myself. After seeing Paranormal Activity, I made Tom stay at my apartment for a week straight (this was obv. before we moved in together.)

Here is my "sorta" ghost story...

So about four years ago I was going through a rough patch in life. I was very depressed and there were a lot of external factors stressing me out. Just not in a good place at all.

For a period of about a week or so, I had the craziest experience. It happened on three separate occasions. I would wake up in the middle of the night and see this mass/creature/outline of something standing by my bed. Still half asleep I would start to get really nervous/scared and blink my eyes a few times and it would disappear. And i would immediately fall back asleep.

The last time it happened, it was the worst. I woke up that morning and saw my pillow laying across the room. I was really confused at first and then it came rushing back to me: i saw the "thing" again by my bed, but this time it was much closer and I felt much more threatened. I screamed and threw my pillow at it and fell back asleep.

That was the last time and it hasn't happened since. Creepy, huh??

Any good ghost stories to share?

I LOVE Are you afraid of the dark! Great throwback pic. Your story is super creepy, I would have FLIPPED OUT! I sometimes think I "want" to watch a scary movie, then end up begging my husband to turn it off. I've been on ghost tours in two different cities though, which were lots of fun.

I do not do scary, creepy stories. I have 2 experiences that I have yet able to find a reasonable explanation for. But I am not going to think about them.

Bring on the chick flicks!

Oh I freaking love everything ghost! I totally watch Ghost Hunters and Paranormal Witness. I'm such a geek.

I've got a few stories, one is like yours, my childhood babysitter appeared at the foot of my bed when I was about 12 or something. I woke up and saw her and she was just kinda smiling, but like fading too. I fell back asleep, woke up the next morning and my mom told me that she had passed away the night before. Crazypants!

I'm don't get into ghost stuff, but I will watch scary movies to humor my husband.

I'm much, much more afraid of real life people than I am of any spirits. :)

Creepy!!!
I love hearing scary stories too but I get so scared. It's not even funny. I used to be a lot tougher when it came to watching scary movies and all that but now I'm just a big chicken.

Awesome! I love this post. I enjoy ghost stories and being scared. I like Horror films too.

That is definitely an interesting and weird experience you had. I believe we are sometimes visited by spirits - good of bad! - so I am glad you are okay!!

All I know is you are not crazy and this stuff DOES happen! Thanks for sharing!

haha, in college, I was listening to a CD by the band New Found Glory. I listened to it through the computer. The last song played and I got ready for bed. I was almost asleep when I heard a faint "someones in your room." It got louder and louder and I totally freaked out! It was a hidden track that played 25 minutes after the last song!! That could not have been the best timing to have that track play like that. Totally creeped me out!
