A tough 8 miles

Since we were headed to Tucson for Beerfest on Saturday, I decided to do my long run Friday night. I was (am) still feeling exhausted from the unknown plague, so I settled to just do 8 miles.

And what a tough 8 miles those were. :P

My nose was running the entire time, my legs felt stiff and I was just flat out tired.

But I ended up doing a lot better than I thought I would. In fact, my average pace was only about 25 seconds slower than my awesome 8 miler I had a few weeks back.

Go figure. I did feel like puking the rest of the night, though. Anyone else get like that after a tough long run?

I have three more long runs before race day. If all goes well, I'll do 10 this Saturday, 12 next Saturday and either 7 or 8 the following Saturday.

As long as I can kick this sickness for good this week, I think I'll be in ok shape. God willing!!

Even though I was still feeling crummy, I couldn't miss Beerfest. As promised, pictures!

Waiting in line for Beerfest to begin!

I think I'll keep him. ;)

Evidently Corey & I were the only ones who got the memo to not look at the camera.

And some random super hero guy. Who, of course, was the perfect photo op.

So sorry the sickness is still holding on. Congrats on getting 8 miles in! Time was great! You never know how well you'll do when you just go for it.

Best wishes to you for your race :)

Sorry you aren't feeling good. I am proud of you for still getting in those 8mi. Girl, we are like right on track with our training! Yesterday was my long run, and I hope to do 10mi this Saturday and feel like crap today too. Feeling like crap together *hugs* lol. Drink lots of herbal tea. It has really been helping me ward off all these colds and flu going around the law school.

Love that last pic!
