So, I'm now faced with a question most runners ponder after a race:
"Now what?"
Do I become lazy again and let my running fall to the wayside, or train for another race?
I really want to keep up the running habit I've created - but I find I need to be training for something, otherwise it's easier to talk myself out of.
December is pretty much a wash race-wise. The couple of races I want to to do, I will be out of town for. (One year I WILL run the 12 k's of Christmas!)
I signed up for The Color Run at the end of January - check out the website, it's a pretty cool concept!
But I need something "bigger" - I think I will train/do the Lost Dutchman this year. Hell, maybe this can be the half marathon I can talk Tom into. We will see. :)
What does your race schedule look like for the upcoming year? Do you think I should just focus on 5k/10k races for a while?
And my only decent picture from the course on Sunday (ie far enough away that you can't see my thunder thighs)

Definitely find something to train for. After my marathon in March, I slacked off and now I wish I hadn't. If you need a race to train for to keep from slacking off, go find something. :)
I usually need to have something to train for too or i slack off on my running.
You should TOTALLY do the Dutchman! It's on the same day as my half marathon!!! 2.19.12. Let's set even bigger goals! I think I'm going to use a different training program now that I know I can actually finish!
Whoa! I just looked up that color run! FUN! And so mad they're not coming to ATL!?!? You will have to rock out for the both of us :)
Find something to train for!! It makes it harder to justify skipping a workout!!! : ) Come to Texas and run a race with meeeeee!!!

I'm not signing up for another race until spring. But I'm going to concentrate on my length of runs, and my time. Try and make that better.
I"m going to focus on my 5K time for the next couple months trying to get it down. I have a deal with my hubby if i can get it under 30 by Dec. 10 he will get me a puppy :)
Agreed, always easier to be training for something, especially if you need that motivation ... go to it.
Race schedule:
Dec '11 - Las Vegas RnR 1/2 Marathon
Jan '12 - Carlsbad 1/2 Marathon
Feb '12 - Ragnar
Apr '12 - La Jolla 1/2 Marathon
Aug '12 - America's Finest City 1/2 Marathon
Still gotta throw in some Tri's and I think my scheduled is set for 2012 ... keep the momentum going, and don't let up.

Good Luck ...
Lost Dutchman sounds like fun, I'm also considering it.
What about P.F.Changs?
The 12k's of Christmas sounds cool. I wish there was something like that in my neck of the woods.
I want a race before the end of the year and would like to have a 10K. But there aren't any nearby! :(
Hm, I'd wonder the same! I say GO FOR ANOTHER :)
You look awesome and determined in that pic! Love it!
Gosh, I can't wait to feel that way too...you motivate me to get this DONE!!!
I say find another race to train for! Halfs are my favorite distance so I of course say train for a half!
Great picture! I have a Thanksgiving day street mile coming up and I am so nervous about it!
Train for the next!
The 12Ks of Christmas is really fun:) You get a Santa Hat, too ;)
Can't wait for the Color Run!
